Best of 2009

I put together a slideshow featuring my favorite photos from 2009. I had so much fun looking back though all my work from this past year. 2009 was such a great year thanks to all the wonderful people I had the chance to photograph, as well as the photographers I had the opportunity to shoot with. I can't wait to see what 2010 brings!!

Happy New Year! Enjoy the slideshow!

Christmas Lights in New Orleans

It has been a busy couple of days! Saturday night I photographed my last event of 2009, and then Sunday morning, Mark and I got in the car and drove down New Orleans for Christmas. We've been having a fun week spending time with Mark's family, celebrating my 25th birthday, doing some last minute Christmas shopping and playing cards.

Last night, we went out to see Christmas lights. First, we went to Celebration in the Oaks, where there were carnival rides and lots of pretty Christmas lights. Here are some photos from last night:

I've always loved carousels, so I had to get a few photos of it.

Afterwards, we went down to the French Quarter to get coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde. I love going there, and since I been there the last few times I was in New Orleans, I had to stop there this time! And I also got to see Jackson Square lit up with Christmas lights.

OpLove: Josh's Homecoming

Yesterday, I photographed Josh's homecoming after being deployed in Iraq since last September. His wife Cait contacted me to set up an OpLove homecoming session of his arrival at the Atlanta airport. I wanted to post of few photos today for their family to see Josh's homecoming. Here are a few photos of their reunion:

Fine Art Style Canvas Photos

I am so excited about the new canvas photo I just had made of one of my photos! As soon as it came in the mail, I immediately hung it up on the wall. I hadn't even decided on the perfect spot to hang it, but I picked an entry wall and I figured I could always move it later. I wanted it displayed right away- that's how excited I was!

This is one of the great products that I offer, and I love it because it can really transform your photos into gorgeous fine art pieces for your home. Here are some photos to show you what the canvas looks like.

Up on the wall...

You'll receive your canvas ready to hang.

The photo is printed on a canvas which wraps around a one and a half inch wooden frame. Here are a few close-ups to let you see the texture and style.

A Sneak Peek from a Fall Family Portrait Session

Last Sunday afternoon, I photographed my friend Katrina's family portraits for their Christmas cards. I was a little nervous to be photographing a fellow photographer, so I was excited when Katrina told me she loved the photos I posted for her as a preview on my Facebook page. It was a lot of fun, but very cold!

Here are the preview photos that I posted for them, starting with one of my favorites:

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas...

Last night, Mark and I decorated out Christmas tree while watching Christmas vacation, drinking hot chocolate and eating white fudge covered Oreos. Add in the cold weather we've been having and really feels like the holiday season. We still have a few more decorations to put up, but it definitely looks like Christmas in our apartment now!

Here's a few photos of our tree and some of our ornaments to get you in the Christmas spirit...

The Evans Family

The Evans Family was so much fun to photograph- especially Jourdan, who loved to pose like a model for the camera and kept the other two laughing the whole time. This another family mini-session from the family portrait event for flood victims last month.

Here are a few of my favorites from their mini-session:

I love that there is a rainbow in this one.

Wednesday Flashback: City Park in New Orleans

This past weekend I decided to order some canvas photos to decorate my apartment since I've been meaning to get some new photos to decorate the our walls for a while now. I started going through some my photos from trips I've taken to try to pick some favorites, and wow, there were a lot to choose from! I had no idea how many photos I take when I travel.

While looking through some of my old travel photos I came across this photo from New Orleans that I have always like but had never shared on the blog. I thought it would be a great one for this week's flashback photo.

Check back on Wednesday afternoons (or subscribe to the blog by email) to see more of my old photography work!

David, Amanda and Emilie: Family Session

Here is another family session from the family portrait event for flood victims that I volunteered to help photograph last month. They were so much fun to photograph, especially little Emilie who was so adorable!

She has such pretty eyes!
